Brook Street

This new Colonial Revival home is the second of a Holliday Homes two lot infill project located in Davidson, North Carolina.  The first home was a 1935 Georgian revival whole house renovation and was the winner of the Lake Norman Home Builders Association Best of the Lake “Best Remodel/Renovation/Addition ($276,000 -$500,000)” in 2022.

A tough act to follow.

Our homebuyer was a couple returning to Davidson after several years living in Connecticut and working in New York City.  While living in Connecticut, they fell in love with the charm and character of older Connecticut homes.  They were also deterred by the upkeep that comes with an older home.  Their dream?  Build a new home that captured the charm and uniqueness of an older home, while also incorporating the upgrades and conveniences that come with a newly built home.

We worked closely with the owner and local Davidson architect Nicole Perri to create a Colonial Revival style home that from the street would have the appearance of a home designed and built in the early 20th century, seamlessly integrating with the existing landscape of older home located in the Davidson area. The plan incorporates the classic details and proportions of a traditional Colonial Revival home while also providing a modern open floor plan, connecting spaces visually while keeping each distinct room defined, with all the upgrades and conveniences that today’s homeowners enjoy and crave.

Our owner shared, “We have always loved the charm and character of old homes but were deterred by the upkeep.  Holliday Homes has built the best of both worlds for us and was attentive to every authentic detail along the way.  We are thrilled with the final product and already feel at home on Brook Street.”
